Today was the last major day for residential auctions prior to easter and the result has helped positively to answer a lot of questions about the health of the property market. This years trend of clearance rates in the mid seventies has continued with a clearance rate of 79 per cent from the 529 auctions reported today. Overall it can be said that the market has performed above expectations in the first quarter of the year.
There were 529 auctions reported today of which 417 sold and 179 were passed in, 67 of those passed in on a vendors bid.
There are a handful of auctions over easter and we expect around 500 to be held the weekend after.
